Our 1 month loans are designed to help you with any unexpected bills or emergencies. They are meant to be used for a short term period. Using short term loans as a way of borrowing over a longer period is not recommended and may cost you more.
Follow the "apply now" steps; select the amount you would like to borrow and the loan term. Complete the online application and you will be notified whether your application will be processed or not. If you meet our initial criteria, your application will be processed and you will need to sign your loan agreement by logging in to your member’s area to allow us to process final checks. Once signed, your application will be processed and if accepted, you will be contacted by one of our agents to deposit your loan.
You can apply for a loan from £75 to £500. Loan amounts are based upon your credit history, the information you provide in your loan application, and our affordability assessment.
You will receive an SMS and/or email telling you that the funds have left our account; following this your funds will then appear in your bank account. Your loan will be paid into your nominated bank account, free of charge by our hourly fast transfer service. (Subject to execution of the loan documentation Monday to Thursday before 7:30pm, Friday before 5pm and Saturday before 3.30pm and whether your nominated bank support the faster payment service).
Our repayment method is based on the Continuous Payment Authority as highlighted in the Terms and Conditions. When you agree to our Terms and Conditions, you authorise us to use your Debit Card details to collect the full amount due.
You can also tell us at any time that you do not want us to use the CPA to collect payments under the agreement by calling us on 01473 200 101 or writing to us at Cash Genie, 2 Reavell Place, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP2 0ET. You also have the right to cancel the continuous payment authority with your card issuer. We accept the following alternative methods of payment; standing order, bank transfer, or cheque payments.
However, be aware that if you cancel the CPA you will still be responsible for paying any money that you owe to avoid going into default.
Yes. We run credit checks to verify your application information and to help determine the amount you can borrow; we perform an independent affordability assessment.
We believe in responsible lending and make lending decisions on a case by case basis, therefore we may still be able to lend to you if you think you have bad credit. However, we perform an affordability assessment each time we provide a loan and we will only lend to you an amount which we think you will be able to repay without any difficulty.
In order to apply for a loan you must meet our lending criteria:
Unfortunately not. We are only able to transfer funds into your own account. We are also able to transfer funds into joint accounts; however the customer must have their own debit card for the joint account.
In most cases, your application will be processed within 30 mins to 1 hour from the time it successfully passes the initial checks & you sign your loan agreement. Approval will depend on satisfactory completion of fraud and other checks. Once your loan has been approved, one of our customer service agents will call you to deposit your loan.
Once you have completed a loan application, Cash Genie will send you updates via email & sms. You may also check your loan status online:

APR stands for "annual percentage rate." It is the annualised cost of credit, expressed as a percentage. While the APR is helpful when comparing two similar credit options from separate lenders, the total cost of credit is also a valuable tool in determining exactly how much the loan will actually cost you.
You will find all the information you need to know on our Complaints Policy page.
